The 2022 season has come to an end for Lennox Lehmann and his Freudenberg KTM - Paligo Racing Team in Portimao. It was a packed year, because in addition to his first season in the World Supersport 300, Lennox Lehmann also completed IDM rounds. In total, the KTM rider took part in 26 races - 16 races in the World Supersport 300 and 10 races in the IDM Supersport 300.
After two championship titles in the IDM Supersport 300, the championship was familiar territory for Lennox Lehmann. In addition, the best training for a motorcyclist is to participate in races. Therefore, IDM runs between the world championship rounds were gladly used. The IDM runs were not only seen as a casual training session by Lennox Lehmann. The young Dresden rider was able to take a total of seven podium places on his KTM in the IDM Supersport 300. At the Lausitzring and the Schleizer Dreieck he was able to enjoy a season victory each. There was also a 2nd place and four 3rd places. At the end of the IDM Supersport 300 season, Lennox Lehmann finished fourth, despite missing four IDM rounds.
Right at the start of the World Supersport 300 Lennox Lehmann managed a bang for the buck. At Motorland Aragon, two 3rd places were clinched from 25th on the grid. This success not only attracted attention in the paddock, but also in the media. Lennox Lehmann succeeded in a fabulous race to catch up. From now on, this kind of catch-up race was to continue throughout the season. The Freudenberg driver first had to get to know a large part of the race tracks, only Most, Assen and Barcelona were no strangers. Therefore, the entire race weekend was a learning process that he had to face. Often only the back rows of the grid remained, which made it all the more amazing the driving talent with which Lennox Lehmann was able to fight his way to the front time and again. In Misano, the 16-year-old KTM rider was able to set the fastest lap in the World Supersport 300 in the second race despite his still ailing shoulder, the result of his crash in Estoril. At the end of July in the Autodrom Most was again a third place.
Lennox Lehmann finished the season in ninth place in the World Supersport 300, exceeding his team's expectations. So all in all, the season was a very good debut in the world championship.
Lennox Lehmann (Freudenberg KTM - Paligo Racing): "It was a cool but also exhausting 2022 season. I am generally satisfied with the results. Better is of course always possible. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all my sponsors, partners, friends and family for their trust in me. My focus is now on preparing for the 2023 season, when I will compete once again in the World Supersport 300 in order to fulfill my dream of winning the world title.
